Hieff UNICON™ Hotstart E-Taq DNA Polymerase is a hot start enzyme that uses two special monoclonal antibodies to block both the polymerase and exonuclease activities of Taq DNA polymerase. These antibodies keep the enzyme inactive until a short 30-second heating step during pre-denaturation fully removes the blockage, allowing the enzyme to work. This dual blocking system helps prevent unwanted amplification caused by mismatches or primer dimers and also protects probe signals from being lost due to degradation. As a result, the enzyme stays stable during transport and at room temperature. It is ideal for primer-probe premixed systems and provides better sensitivity, specificity, and performance on GC-rich sequences than standard qPCR enzymes.
